The Gastroenterologist

Terms of use

Last updated June 4, 2026

By using The Gastroenterologist you agree to the terms below.

Educational decision support, not medical advice

The Gastroenterologist summarizes published gastroenterology guidelines and landmark trials for use by qualified healthcare professionals. It supports clinical reasoning. It does not practice medicine, it does not create a clinician and patient relationship, and it does not replace your clinical judgment, an individual assessment, or the full guideline text. You remain responsible for every clinical decision you make.

For professionals, and not for time-critical use

The content is written for clinicians who can independently review the cited source behind any statement. It is not built for emergencies or time-critical decisions where there is no opportunity to check the source first.

Verify before you act

Scores, regimens, doses, and intervals are summaries of a cited guideline and can contain errors or fall out of date. Confirm any dose, eligibility, or interval against current prescribing information, the original guideline, and your local protocols before acting.

The assistant

The assistant returns answers drawn from indexed guideline text, with citations. Automated answers can be incomplete or wrong. Treat an answer as a pointer to the cited source, which is the authority, and read that source.
